For optimal measurement accuracy, you can
use the Indigo80 handheld indicator to give additional information about the connected
probe’s measurement environment.
For example, you can:
- Configure the pressure compensation
setting for your probe
- Enable
temperature compensation from another Indigo-compatible probe that has a temperature
output. For example, you can enable TMP1 to function as the temperature source for
HMP7.
| The environment settings
available through Indigo80 correspond to the environmental compensation settings of the
probe. Therefore, Environment settings and are interconnected: the configuration set in either menu is applied to
both. |
-
Connect the probe(s) to the indicator.
-
Open the
main menu by pressing .
-
Select Devices. If you have more than one device connected to the indicator, make a further selection
between the devices.
-
Select Environment settings to access the settings for your probe.
The available environment settings
depend on the probe and probe firmware version.
- Pressure
-
Value for pressure compensation. The entered value is persistent and remains
unchanged at device restart.
- Temperature
-
This setting allows the probe to
use a temperature reading from another device instead of its own temperature
reading. An external temperature source is needed when condensation prevention
functions of the probe are active, as they will also heat the temperature sensor
of the device. Indigo80 can link a temperature measurement from another probe to
this setting and update it in real time.
| Some probe firmware versions may allow a value to be entered
manually. This is not recommended as the value must correspond to the temperature
of the measurement environment as accurately as possible. |
A manually entered value is
cleared at device reset. A value read from another probe is persistent: when you
disconnect and then reconnect the same probes to the same ports in Indigo80,
Indigo80 will continue reading the temperature value from the previously selected
probe. The same applies also when you restart Indigo80 with the same probes
connected.
-
Select a setting from the list, for example, Pressure.
-
Select the unit, if prompted.
-
Use the arrow buttons to set the desired value, and then select OK or Set.
You can also select to read the
value from another probe connected to the indicator, provided that the probe can
output the required compensation parameter. Press to
highlight the Read value from field, and then press to select the other probe as the source of the value.
| For Temperature, always set the temperature value to be read from another probe. Do not set the
temperature value manually. Make sure that both probes are in the same environment
to get the most accurate measurement values. |

Exit the menu
by pressing or return to the main menu by pressing .
