WID512 receives data from a data sending unit, such as Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS), through Ethernet connection by default, or when configured, using serial RS-485/RS-232 connection.
To ensure uninterrupted data flow, several displays can be connected in parallel when using RS‑485/RS‑232 connection, or connected in a parallel LAN bus. If one of the displays fails, the other displays continue to display data.
The operation of the display is determined by the display configuration.
