Follow these instructions to mount OPT100 Optimus with Antivibration Wall Mounting Set. If you are using Wall Mounting Set without antivibration dampers, see Installing Wall Mounting Set.

  • Antivibration Wall Mounting Set (Vaisala item OPTMSET3)

    • Wall mount parts (4 pcs)
    • Spacers for Weather Shield (2 pcs)
    • Upper supports (2 pcs)
    • Antivibration dampers (6 pcs)
    • Bolts, nuts, washers, and spring washers
  • Anchors or bolts (suitable for wall material, recommended M12)
  • 6-mm Allen key
  • 13-mm wrench
CAUTION

Use enough anchors or bolts to fill local safety factor requirements. Also account for possible vibrations and other sources of additional mechanical stress.

Use anchors or bolts that are suitable for the wall material at the installation location. Note that they are not included with the Wall Mounting Set.

  1. Assemble the wall mount using M8 bolts, nuts, spring washers and washers. Tighten to 20 Nm using a 6‑mm Allen key.
  2. Drill holes into the wall and insert anchors suitable for the wall material that can bear the full weight of OPT100 Optimus DGA monitor and Power supply unit.
  3. Install the wall mount to the wall. It is recommended to use M12 anchors and bolts.
  4. Measure the correct height and drill holes for the upper dampers. See Figure 1.
  5. Install the upper dampers into the wall. Make sure the longer, 20-mm thread goes into the wall. Tighten by hand.
  6. Install dampers to the bottom of the DGA monitor. Make sure the shorter, 15-mm thread goes into the DGA monitor. Tighten by hand.
  7. With two people lifting, lift DGA monitor in its place on top of the wall mount.
  8. To secure DGA monitor in place, tighten the 4 nuts with washers and spring washers to 20 Nm using a 13‑mm wrench.
  9. Install the upper supports with M8 bolts and washers. Push the damper thread through the support hole. Do not fully tighten the bolts and leave the second set of mounting holes empty for the Weather Shield installation.
  10. Install spacers at the bottom of the DGA monitor with M8 bolts and washers for the Weather Shield. Tighten to 20 Nm using a 6‑mm Allen key.
  11. Install the Weather Shield. Use the second set of mounting holes to fasten it. Tighten the M8 bolts with washers to 20 Nm using a 6‑mm Allen key.
  12. Fasten the dampers to the upper supports. Tighten to 20 Nm with a 13‑mm wrench.
  13. It is recommended that you connect oil pipes or hoses and cables to the DGA monitor before attaching the Power supply unit (PSU). See Installing oil lines.
    Use flexible tubing or make sure the oil pipes are not too rigidly supported to allow some flexibility when using antivibration dampers.
  14. Install 2 M8 bolts with washers to the PSU. Do not fully tighten the bolts.
  15. Hang PSU to the wall mount by the bolts.
  16. Install 2 more M8 bolts with washers to hold PSU in place. Tighten all bolts to 20 Nm using a 6‑mm Allen key.
