Before you start to erect the mast, install the winch on the mast. See Installing Winch on Mast.

  1. Take a good grasp of the winch handle.
  2. Check that the wire between the winch and the wire hook is tight. If there is slack wire, tighten it by turning the handle clockwise.
  3. To start winching, turn the handle clockwise.

When turning the winch handle clockwise to erect the mast, the winch gives a clicking sound. The clicking indicates that the load is engaged and the winch operates correctly.

WARNING If the winch does not give a clicking sound when erecting the mast, turn the handle from two to three times in the Up direction. If there is still no sound, do not operate the winch.
  4. After erecting the mast, secure the mast flange and connect the guy wire. For more information, see DKP206/210 User's Guide.
  5. Remove the winch from the mast by performing the steps in Installing Winch on Mast in reverse order.
