You can change the offset and gain values of the measurement by entering the new values to be used for the measurement.
  1. In AWS Client, select Settings > Calibration.
  2. Select from the list the measurement that you want to calibrate.
  3. Select Manual Calibration.
Table 1. Fields in calibration window
    Field Description Input
Sensor Sensor name as defined in the setup.
Channel Measurement channel of the sensor.
    ID Measurement identifier.
    Status Sensor status.
Offset Offset for the sensors. Overwrites the previous offset value with the new one.
Sensitivity 1 Sensitivity value for the radiation sensor. Overwrites the sensor sensitivity value for the radiation sensor.
Factor 2 Measurement gain for all but the radiation sensors. Overwrites the previous gain value with the new one.
Value The last measured sensor reading shown in physical units. Overwrites the sensor reading with the typed value, that is, changes the offset of the measurement.
Radiation sensors tend to have individual characteristics and always need to be calibrated prior to operation.
  4. To change the offset, type the new value in the Offset field.
  5. To change the calibration factor (gain), type the new value in the Factor field.
The Factor parameter has sensor-dependent use. It affects the gain of the measurement or the sensitivity of the radiation sensors:
    • To calibrate radiation sensors QMN10x and QMS10x with the QML data logger, enter the sensor-dependent sensitivity factor (V/Wm2), which is given in the type sticker or calibration sheet of the particular sensor.
    • To calibrate other listed sensors, type the gain of the measurement, that is, the slope of the conversion curve.
  6. To calibrate the sensor, select Calibrate.

The values you have changed in the Manual Calibration window but have not yet sent to the QML data logger by selecting Calibrate, are displayed in bold.

The values you have changed in the Manual Calibration window are not updated automatically. To get the current Offset and Factor values from the QML data logger, select Refresh.

  7. To close the window, select Close.
  8. To activate the new configuration, reset the QML data logger. Select Maintenance > Reset > Immediate.
1 Displayed only for the radiation sensor.
2 Displayed for others than the radiation sensor.
