The data message that RSI51 sends to the AviMet system contains 4 main data items.

Runway-in-use setting 2
  • 1 = Runway 2 is active
  • 0 = Runway 2 is inactive

You can use only one runway light intensity value and one of the runways-in-use at a time. If you use two or more runway light intensity values, the fail-safe activates and only the smallest value is displayed in the output. If both or neither of the runway-in-use values are active at the same time, the data message shows the values as‑is but the status bit message displays an alarm.

The activation of the runway light intensity setting depends on the voltage signal, which is first wired to the terminal block and then led to the analog input channel on the QML data logger. The terminal block has a voltage divider with 10 kΩ and 1 kΩ resistors, which allows the QML data logger to receive the signal. If there is no voltage signal or if the voltage signal is below 12 VDC or above 48 VDC, the runway light intensity and runway-in-use values are 0.
