The laser bandwidth factor affects the estimated laser spectrum, which is used in transmission modeling during water vapor retrieval. When the laser bandwidth factor is not properly set, the water vapor mixing ratio profiles can show dry or wet bias.
This document applies to DA10 release 2.5, and newer. Vaisala recommends updating to release 2.5 or newer before adjusting the bandwidth factor.
