The following figures show the WID525 (WID313BASE) hardware. The COM2 connector used for the RS‑485 connection is in the same place on both hardware versions.

  1. Remove the back cover of the display.
  2. Disconnect existing cabling, if any.
  3. Remove the strain relief cover plate.
  4. Install the connector plate.
  5. Connect the inner wires.
    To make it easier to connect the wires, remove the serial connector from the circuit board.
    CAUTION

    Electricity hazard

    Handling energized wires can cause electric shock. Prepare or connect only de-energized wires.

    If you are using COM2, check that the DIP switches are in the correct position.

    Inner wiring for RS‑232 connection (not available for WID511, WID512, or WID513))
  6. If you removed the connectors from the circuit board, reattach them after wiring.
  7. Reattach the back cover.
  8. Connect the power and data cables to the connectors in the connector plate.

    1: RS‑485: R−/TxD, RS‑232: RxD

    2: RS‑485: R+/RxD, RS‑232: TxD

  9. Place the label delivered with the connector plate above the connectors.
  10. Connect the power supply or other power source.

    As soon as the display is powered, the screen lights up and the display starts to collect, process, and show data according to the preset configuration.
