Vaisala highly recommends selecting both GNSS and NTP as time sources to enhance accuracy, ensure continuous synchronization during outages, and improve overall system resilience and availability.
When both are configured, the system continuously monitors the quality and availability of each time source and automatically synchronizes to the one offering the best accuracy and reliability at any given time.
Note the following:

The system does not statically assign GNSS or NTP as the primary source. Instead, it dynamically selects the best available source based on real-time quality metrics.

If both GNSS and NTP are unavailable, the system reverts to the last manually set time (as maintained by the RTC).
