New features and improvements

  • VDL200 now supports connecting up to 4 physical probes using splitter cables (Vaisala item code 284332).
  • The maximum number of parameters that can be displayed and recorded is 4. You can combine different probe types freely, as long as the total number of parameters measured by the probes is no more than 4. HMP63, HMP110, and HMP115 probes supply 2 parameters (RH+T), all other compatible probes supply 1 parameter.
Depending on the power consumption of connected probes and user requirements for battery backup time, it may be necessary to use a PoE power supply with an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to extend the backup time. Vaisala recommends using an UPS when connecting 3–4 GMP probes, or ANP probes that provide sensor powering.

Fixes

  • CDF-3535: Fixed an issue that could cause the firmware update failure message be shown after a successful remote update.
  • CDF-3536: Fixed an issue that could cause one or more measurement samples to be missed during firmware transfer.
  • CDF-3652: Improved battery change detection to avoid showing the battery replacement notice unnecessarily.
  • CDF-3654: Reduced power consumption of the device when the service port is not in use.
  • CDF-3677: Changing network settings (DHCP/static IP, gateway, DNS) no longer requires a device reboot to take effect.

Compatibility

  • Compatible with the following monitoring solutions:
    • viewLinc Enterprise Server version 5.2.1 and later. Version 5.2.2 or later required for use with Analog Input Probe ANP115.
    • Jade Smart Cloud.
    At the time of release of this firmware version, Jade Smart Cloud has the following limitations when VDL200 is used with Analog Input Probe ANP115:
    • Boolean mode is not supported.
    • Door switch mode is not supported.
    • ANP115C door switch model is not supported.
  • Compatible with Insight PC software version 1.3.0 and later.

Upgradeability

  • Can be installed on any VDL200 data logger that has an earlier firmware version.
