  • Valve-body
  • Flange bolts (according to DIN, ANSI, JIS standards)
  • 17‑mm socket wrench
  • Wrenches of different sizes
These are general instructions for the refractometer mounting. Plan the process‑specific installation according to your requirements. Contact Vaisala technical support for further assistance if needed.
  1. Familiarize yourself with the safety instructions of the installation site.
  2. Make sure the process line is depressurized and empty.
  3. Measure the space for the refractometer and connection.

  4. Remove the transportation covers from the valve-body. Use a 17‑mm wrench to remove the nuts. Keep the nuts and washers for later use.
  5. Install the valve-body into the process pipeline. Tighten according to the strength class of the acquired bolts.
  6. Install the refractometer. Tighten the bolts to 33 Nm using a 17‑mm wrench. Make sure the electrical connections on the refractometer are in a downward position.
  7. Make sure the refractometer is firmly in place and that there is no excessive vibration. Support the piping if needed.
