If you have 2 batteries in your system, Vaisala recommends that you install an NTC resistor for each battery.

  1. There are 2 ferruled wires on the other end of the NTC resistor. Connect the wires to the temperature resistor connector located between the 2 battery connectors in the BMU801 front panel.

  2. The other end of the NTC resistor has a cable lug. Attach it to the negative ( − ) terminal in the battery. For an example, see the following figure.

    Another possible location for attaching the NTC resistor to the battery is the side of the battery. You can use cable ties for attaching. Make sure that the resistor has good physical contact with the battery.
