Before starting, locate the emergency shower.
  • Refractometer
  • 18‑mm wrench
Follow these instructions to remove the PR53SD refractometer from the retractor. Contact Vaisala technical support for further assistance if needed.

  1. Familiarize yourself with the safety instructions of the installation site.
  2. Open screws to remove the back plate.
  3. Disconnect wires from the wiring header.
  4. Loosen and remove the nuts using an 18-mm wrench.
    WARNING Do not open the capped nuts. The pressurized process liquid will burst out and could result in death or serious injury.
  5. Rotate the hand wheel until it stops.
    The refractometer is not yet fully out.
  6. Close the isolation valve by turning the valve handle 90 degrees.
  7. Rotate the hand wheel until it stops.
