1. Connect the Digi IX20 modem to the Digi PortServer, as follows:
   • Connect the DB-9F Console Adapter (2) to the Serial (DTE) port on the Digi IX20 modem (1) and connect a straight-wiring LAN cable (3) between the RJ45 jack on the DB-9F Console Adapter (2) and an RS-232 port on the Digi PortServer device (4).
   • Connect one end of the RJ45 to DB9 Female Crossover (not shown in current diagram) to the Serial (DTE) port on the Digi IX20 modem (1) and the other end to the S-232 port on the Digi PortServer device (4).
2. Connect the Digi PortServer (4) to the network with an Ethernet cable (5).
3. Use the installation software provided with your Digi PortServer device (4) to configure the device, and install it as a COM port on the viewLinc Server (6).
4. Verify the COM port number of the connection:
   1. Open the Windows Control Panel.
   2. Go to Device Manager.
   3. Select Ports (COM & LPT).
   4. Locate the serial port and make note of the port number.
