To be able to use a modem connection, you must have Modem Carrier Module DMX801 installed in DMU801. Before starting, make sure that the modem has a SIM card installed.

Configure modem settings to enable cellular connectivity for DMU801.

  1. In the Web UI, go to Settings > Network.
  2. Select Modem1.

    Modem1 shows the following:

    Signal quality
The signal quality and the operator.
    IP address
The IP address specified by your cellular network provider.
  3. Set the following:
    Connection mode
By default, the modem connection is automatically controlled (recommended). This means that when set to Automatic, the modem will automatically connect and disconnect according to the predefined logic in the configuration file. If you want to control the connection, select Manual > Save.

The Connect and Disconnect buttons will appear on the screen (which button is visible depends on the current connection status).

If you select Disconnect, you will not be able to restore the connection remotely.
    Use default route
Enable or disable the use of default route. The route metric for the modem default route is 100.
    Periodic ping host
Type any web address or IP address to which the modem tries to connect periodically. If the connection cannot be established after 3 attempts, the system resets the modem connection.
    DNS address 1
Type the IP address of the primary DNS server. Only needed when private access point is used.
    DNS address 2
Type the IP address of the secondary DNS server.
    APN
Type the Access Point Name (APN) as specified by your cellular network provider, for example Internet.
    PIN code
Type the PIN code of the SIM card.
    Data roaming
    Enable or disable data roaming.
  4. If you want to set another IP route for the network interface, select Add new IP route, and set the following:
    Destination network IP address
Type the destination network or device address.
    Subnet prefix length
Type the number of network bits in Destination network IP address.
    Route metric
Type the route metric value according to which the routing decisions are made. If 2 or more active network interfaces that have routing entries with equal subnet length define access to the destination network, the one with the lower route metric value will be used.
  5. To save the changes, select Save.
