The internal data storage of DMU801 enables storing a large amount of data locally. You can also use an external SD memory card to store data. DMU801 supports SD cards of up to 32 GB. Observation data can be stored in the internal storage or SD card. System event log and station parameters are stored in the internal storage.

Observation data contains the observation values, their metadata, and timestamps. Data storage duration or maximum size are defined in the configuration file. Data can be stored for a defined number of days, for example 90 days, or as long as possible. As long as possible means as long as there is space in the DMU801 internal storage or SD memory card, or as long as the defined file size limit is met, whichever comes first.

The system event log contains information on power failures, communication failures, sensor failures, system component failures, and recovery from these. This information is available for Vaisala use.
