The refractometer has been adjusted at the factory. Usually there is no need to readjust the refractometer unless the main circuit board has been removed, or the prism has been changed in service.

Vaisala provides a service for checking the functionality of the refractometer, and adjusting the device as a factory maintenance service, if needed.

Each refractometer has its own unique RI adjustment parameters that have been calculated at the Vaisala factory. These are the A-parameters. The A-parameters change as a result of the adjustment.

The adjustment of the refractometer is done by performing as accurate RI calibration as possible. This can be done using either Vaisala Insight or Indigo520. After RI calibration, RI adjustment can be done using Insight. This adjusts how the refractive index is calculated.

The quality of the adjustment depends on the RI calibration and circumstances related to the RI calibration. Contact your local distributor or helpdesk@vaisala.com if your device needs adjustment.

Usually there is no need to adjust the temperature measurement of the refractometer. Field offset should be sufficient. However, temperature adjustment can be done using Insight.
