The PR53 process refractometers provide one scalable analog output channel with 4–20 mA current output loop. The output range and the engineering unit depend on the concentration curve used: if the unit is configured with Brix 0–100 ° output, the scaling of the output channel is 4 mA = 0 °Brix and 20 mA = 100 °Brix.
The output is configurable: The output variable (refractive index, temperature, concentration, quality factor), scaling, and error status indication level can be configured using the Vaisala Insight software and a USB adapter. The engineering unit of the concentration is defined by the concentration curve, and can only be changed by modifying the concentration curve.
When PR53 is connected to Indigo520, 4 analog output channels are available. The signal type (0–1/5/10 V, 0/4–20 mA) in Indigo520 is user configurable. The integrated analog output channel and the Indigo520 analog outputs are independent from each other, and can also be used simultaneously.
PR53 process refractometers have two configurable error state levels.
- Default: 3.4 mA
- Secondary error state: Enabled, 3.2 mA
