The chassis ground and ground terminal are electrically connected. Grounding can be done either by connecting the cable shield to the respective terminal in the wiring header, or alternatively by connecting the cable shield to the cable gland.
The integrated mA signal is galvanically isolated from the power supply in order to minimize the possibility of ground loops.
The signal ground of the integrated RS485 bus signal ground is galvanically connected to the power supply ground. Consider grounding to avoid the effect of ground loops in the RS485 bus.
The signal cable shield should be connected to the PR53 chassis ground. Grounding through the cable gland is recommended. Alternatively, the cable shield can be connected to the SHIELD pin in the wiring header.
Consider the grounding of the PR53 refractometer in situations where the device is connected to non-conductive (such as glass fiber) pipelines in order to avoid static electricity.
