The HART protocol is a standardized industrial automation protocol that can be used to transfer measurement and diagnostic values and perform some limited device configuration. A HART bus works along with a 4–20 mA analog output channel either in point-to-point connection, in which the bus provides measurement information both in an analog and digital channel, or in multidrop mode, in which communication happens only in a digital channel. PR53 complies with HART protocol version 7.
The HART features supported by PR53 are described in HART Field Device Specification. Electronic Device Description (EDD) file and FDI package for HART DD hosts are available in the FieldComm Group package repository.
