The LED indicators are used to indicate the status of the refractometer when used without the Indigo520 transmitter.

The color of the LED corresponds to the severity:

  • Green indicates normal operation and power on.
  • Blinking green indicates successful digital communication to the RS485 port. When the green LED blinks, the refractometer has successfully received and responded to a Modbus request, or received successful communication from the Indigo520 transmitter.
  • Yellow indicates warning status. You need to attach the refractometer to Modbus, the Indigo520 transmitter, or Insight software.
  • Red indicates a critical failure where user interference is required. When the red LED is on, the refractometer may need to be sent to Vaisala for service. Contact helpdesk@vaisala.com.

The error codes can be read either through the Indigo520 transmitter, Modbus RTU port, or Vaisala Insight software with a USB adapter.
