Technical note

Most viewLinc systems will not have units for particle count or pump flow in percentage. These units will need to be created in viewLinc before you attempt to add the particle counter as a device in Device Manager.

  1. In System Preferences select the Units tab.
  2. Select Count per Cubic Foot, then select Edit.
  3. Update the unit properties:
For non-viewLinc default unit types, you can modify the name of the unit type.
    Device Units
Type a maximum of 4 CAPITAL letters per unit of measurement. Use a comma (,) to separate unit types.
    • Metric units:
      • PCM for particles per cubic meter
      • or C/CM for counts per cubic meter
    • Non-metric units:
      • PCF for particles per cubic foot
      • or C/CF for counts per cubic foot
    Display Text
Type the format to display for each unit. For example, if a temperature unit is C, you may want to display Celsius.
Set the minimum value permitted for this unit to zero.
Set the maximum value permitted for this unit.
Maximum value should set to the highest value, which is 2 294 967 295. This is the maximum value for a 32-bit signed integer. In practice, the maximum particle count value you will see on a Climet CI-3100 is 35,000,000 C/CM and 1,000,000 C/CF.
    Decimal Places
Set the number of decimal place value to zero.
  4. Select Save.
  5. Perform the same steps above for Count per Cubic Meter.
