BMU801 monitors the battery and keeps it charged. BMU801 measures the battery state of charge and reports it.
BMU801 automatically detects if the battery is faulty, missing, or disconnected. In addition, BMU801 gives a warning when the battery is old or should otherwise be replaced. BMU801 stops charging under the following conditions:
- Battery is faulty
- Battery or its ambient temperature exceeds the operating temperature limit of the battery
- Input voltage for BMU801 drops below 15 V
Even if BMU801 stops charging because of the too high battery temperature or too low input voltage, BMU801 still continues to supply supply power to the weather station (or other system). |
When the battery temperature is within the operational limits again, or the input voltage is over 15 V, BMU801 automatically resumes charging.
