The laptop must support an Ethernet connection.

Before you start, make sure that:

  • You know the IP address of the device you are updating. The following instructions use the default IP address 192.168.2.102.

  • You know the admin password for the device. (Set the admin password during device activation, see CL61 Installation Guide (M212474EN).)

The software update interrupts measurements.
  1. Connect your computer to the same network as the ceilometer.

    Use the Ethernet maintenance cable.

    CAUTION Remove the Ethernet maintenance cable after setup. It is not intended for permanent installation.
  2. Configure your computer settings to match the device (ceilometer) network settings.
  3. Browse to the folder where you extracted the software package on your computer.
  4. Open Vaisala Field Application.
  5. Type the device IP address.
  6. Log in with username and password.
  7. Select Maintain > Update Firmware.
  8. Select Browse, browse to the software package you extracted, and select Open.
  9. Select Update Firmware.
Vaisala Field Application confirms the overall device status.
