Preventive maintenance includes:

Cleaning the transmitter and receiver windows and hoods and the RAINCAP rain sensor.
- Calibrating PWD yearly (Vaisala recommendation) and after replacing any of the optical units.
| CAUTION Do not bend the signal cable with less than 2 cm (0.8 inch) radius, and do not leave it unsupported to lean to the ground or table. |
If any mechanical damage changes or weakens the receiver, the transmitter, or the tube supporting them, replace the sensor. If there is reason to suspect that sensor malfunction is caused by faults in the optical units or the rain sensor, contact Vaisala to replace the unit.
