Calibrating BARO‑1 is a demanding, high-precision task that requires proper facilities. Vaisala recommends that you send the sensor to Vaisala for calibration.

You can perform a 1‑point field check of BARO-1 using the Web UI. BARO-1 module is located inside DMB801.

  • Laptop computer and access to the Web UI
  • Traveling standard barometer (for example, Vaisala PTB330TS)
  • USB‑C cable (included in the delivery)
  1. Connect DMU801 to your computer with a USB‑C cable.
  2. Open a web browser, log in to the Web UI, and go to Measurements.
  3. Under Sensors, select Barometric Pressure (Baro1) (or other name given to the component).
  4. In Maintenance, select Calibrate.

    The Field Calibration window opens.

  5. Lift the reference barometer to the same height as DMU801.
Make sure that the wind does not interfere with the reading of the reference barometer.
  6. Read the reference barometer reading.
  7. If the reference reading differs from the BARO‑1 measurement with more than 0.2 hPa, type this reference reading in Reference pressure.
  8. Select Calculate offset.

The offset (measured value − reference reading) is shown.

  9. To save the changes, select Save.
  10. Repeat the calibration if necessary.
If you later want to check the latest offset value, you can always do it in Maintenance > Calibrate > Offset.
