Using the default pedestal (PLUVIOINST400‑2), the orifice of the gauge is at the height of 1.5 m (4 ft 11 in) above ground level.

  1. Attach the pedestal to the concrete base using suitable bolts and plugs.

The diameter of the hole in the bottom plate is 16 mm (0.63 in). Make sure that the pedestal is fully vertical.

  2. Pull the sensor cable into the empty conduit pipe.
  3. Place the base plate of the gauge on a level surface.
  4. Remove the 4 outside cross‑head bolts (transportation lock) in the bucket overlay.

Save the cross‑head bolts for future transportation or shipping.

  5. Loosen the central attachment bolt in the bucket overlay (the bolt is secured with 2 hex nuts).
  6. Remove the bucket overlay.
  7. Unscrew the 4 cross‑head bolts on the cover of the electronics unit approximately 3 mm (0.12 in), raise the cover slightly and pull it off forward.

If the foam rubber seal for the cover is stuck to the surface below, carefully remove the cover with a flat head screwdriver.

  8. Place the base plate on the pedestal, so that the sensor cable runs through the opening in the base plate.
  9. Without fully tightening the 6 hex bolts, screw them into the base plate flange with an open‑ended, 123‑mm (4.84‑in) wrench (supplied).
  10. Connect the sensor cable between the terminal under the base plate and the weather station.
