CAUTION Ground all sensors and route the cables as instructed. Careless installation can cause damage and prevent or limit operation.
  1. Depending on the type of cable gland, do one of the following:
    • Cable glands with EMC springs:

      1. Remove the cable gland from the flange.
      2. Pull the cable through the cable gland until the cable shield is firmly connected to the EMC springs.

      3. Lead the cable through the flange and attach the cable gland back to its place.
    • Cable glands without EMC springs:

      1. Use sealing inserts. Push the sealing insert on to the cable shield.

      2. Pull the cable and the sealing insert inside the cable gland.

RJ45 connectors do not fit through the cable glands. Cut off the existing connector, lead the Ethernet cable through a cable gland, and attach a new cable connector to the cable. For instructions, see the connector documentation.

The Ethernet cable shield is mounted to the connector only. Use rubber sealing inserts to make sure that the connection is watertight.
  2. To prevent water from leaking into the enclosure, tighten the cable glands around the cable shields. Tighten also those cable glands that are not in use.
