For the AC (mains) and DC power lines must have a circuit breaker on the power line outside the enclosure. Solar panels bigger than 120 W also require a circuit breaker outside the enclosure if they do not have a connector in the panel wiring for this purpose.

You may also have a switch on the same line. The circuit breaker or the switch is used as an external disconnection device on the power line.

The circuit breaker must be rated 10 A at 250 V AC for the AC (mains) line and 10 A 30 V DC for the DC or solar panel line. The circuit breaker must be C‑curve and have 2 poles. In addition, the circuit breaker must conform to any additional local regulations.

To prevent accidental switching on during installation and maintenance, make sure that the disconnection device is visible from the enclosure or can be locked with a key. Make also sure that installed enclosure does not block access to the disconnection device. The disconnection device must remain easy to operate.

WARNING Before connecting the cable, switch off the power.
  1. Lead the cable between the external disconnection device and power input, and connect the cable to the external disconnection device.
  2. Clearly mark the disconnection device as the disconnection device for the enclosure.
  3. Make sure that the external disconnection device is switched off. If possible, lock it into the off position.
