Before setting up the cellular modem, obtain a SIM card.
To protect the SIM from unauthorized use, use a PIN code. To set a PIN code, insert the SIM card to a mobile phone and use the phone to set the PIN. Write it down in a safe place for future reference.
If you have a Modem Carrier Module DMX801 that contains an integrated modem module in your system, it may have the SIM card already in place. If the SIM card is not inserted, follow the steps below.
  1. Make sure that the weather station is powered off.
  2. Locate DMU801 in the enclosure.
  3. Hold your SIM card so that the cut-off corner points up and the golden contact area of the card is on the left side.
  4. Insert the card in its slot in DMX801, pushing it all the way in.
