Technical description

The weather station configuration contains a default GOES data message template.

Only a limited number of observation data can be sent in the GOES data message. The maximum number of characters in the message depends on the duration of the sending time window and the bit rate used. For example, if the time window is 10 s and the bit rate 300 bps, the data message can contain approximately 300 characters.

You can configure the GOES data message to be automatically sent to a predefined destination at predefined intervals.

In AWS810 standard configuration, the GOES message provides the following data by default.

Observation Unit Statistic Text width Binary width Binary scale
Air temperature °C 10‑minute average 5.1 2 10
Relative humidity % 10‑minute average 2.0 2 1
Barometric pressure hPa 10‑minute average 6.1 3 10
Wind speed m/s 10‑minute average 4.1 2 10
Wind direction ° 10‑minute average 3.0 2 1
Precipitation sum mm 10‑minute sum 3.1 2 10

Example of GOES data message (textual)

The example is of a single set of observations. A complete message may contain multiple sets, as configured by the timing parameter snapshotInterval. By default, the sets are separated by line feed characters <CR><LF>.

Example of GOES data message (pseudo-binary)

The example is of a single set of observations. A complete message may contain multiple sets, as configured by the timing parameter snapshotInterval. The sets are fixed in width, and there are no separators.
