Kipp & Zonen SMP series pyranometers are high-quality radiometers that measure short-wave irradiance on a plane surface (radiant flux, W/m2). The irradiance is calculated from the sum of the direct solar radiation and diffuse sky radiation from the hemisphere above the sensor.
Sensor | Description |
---|---|
SMP3 | Smaller and lighter than other SMP series pyranometers, with slightly lower measurement accuracy. |
SMP6 | Improved performance over SMP3 due to double glass dome and standard-size casing. |
SMP10 | Faster response, better linearity, and wider measurement range than SMP3 and SMP6. |
SMP12 | Similar to SMP10, but with dome heating. |
SMP22 | Fitted with 2 thick quartz domes that provide a wider spectral range and reduced thermal offsets. Directional errors are greatly reduced. |
