Use the drag and drop feature to create new
Locations that are automatically linked to device channels.
Full Control permission is required for the Zone where the new Location will be created.
In Sites Manager select the Hosts and Devices tab.
In the Hosts and Devices tree, select the new device.
Select an unlinked device channel, then drag it over to the Zone where the new Location
will be created. The icon changes to when the
position is valid.
In the Link Channel to
Location window, choose when you want this new Location to start monitoring data:
Start now
Data is recorded starting from the next available sample time.
Start from earliest
available link time
Include all channel data history recorded by the device. This option is useful if
the channel has been in use but unlinked for a period of time.
Start from a
specified time
Set a specific time to start recording data history. You may want to use this
option when you want to delay the start of recorded history.
Select Link.
To define a unique Location name, select the new Location and right-click to select
Edit Properties.
