Overview of initial configuration - FD70

FD70 is accessed through a maintenance line.

Depending on your FD70 hardware, the maintenance connection is one of the following:

• Through the measurement unit open-ended cable (serial line or Ethernet)
• Through the interface unit maintenance port (Ethernet)

Before you can configure FD70, you need to activate it. See FD70 Installation Guide (M212221EN).

After the hardware installation and activation, configure FD70:

1. Configuring serial line connections or Configuring TCP/IP connection
2. Configuring device identifier and location information
3. Configuring time
4. Configuring message settings
5. Configuring measurements
