You can set the message settings for ports COM1, COM2, and ETH0.

The default message settings are listed in the following table. Use the settings that are suitable for you.

The following examples are for the COM1 port. The same parameters and settings are available for ports COM1 and COM2.
  1. Establish a maintenance connection to FD70.
  2. Change the user level: 
    level 1
  3. Check the message settings.

    For example, checking the message settings of COM1 port.

    get com1
  4. Set the data message type.

    For example, setting the data message type of COM1 port to MES 7:

    set com1.message1.type 7
  5. To set message interval, select poll or autosend:

    • To set FD70 to poll mode for the COM1 port, type the following command:

      set com1.message1.interval 0

    • To set FD70 to automatic message sending mode for the COM1 port, type the following command:

      set com1.message1.interval <interval in seconds>

      The available range is 0 ... 3600 seconds.

  6. To use message framing for the COM1 port, type the following command: 
    set com1.message1.framing ON
    set com1.message1.emulation <FD12|PWD>

  7. To continue showing FD70 measurement values even when there is an active alarm, type the following command:

    For example, configuring COM1 port:

    set com1.message1.validonalarm ON

    You can set the message setting for ports COM1 and COM2. The default setting is OFF.
