When starting to use FD70, define the device identifier and device location information.

This information helps to distinguish several devices from each other and provides metadata for the measurements.

The configurable unit metadata settings are listed in the following table. Use the settings that are suitable for you.

Use negative value (-) for values below sea level

  1. Establish a maintenance connection to FD70.
  2. Change the user level:
    level 1
  3. Configure the device identifier:
    set fd.unit.deviceid <device identifier>

    Device identifier is 1 character.

  4. To set the device location, type the latitude, longitude, and altitude information:
    set fd.unit.latitude <latitude>
    set fd.unit.longitude <longitude>
    • For latitude the range is -90.0000 ... 90.0000.

    • For longitude the range is -180.0000 ... 180.0000.

    set fd.unit.altitude <altitude>

    For altitude, the resolution is full meters. Use negative value (-) for values below sea level.

  5. If you have several devices, use the alias information to distinguish them from one another.
    set fd.unit.alias1 <alias name>
    set fd.unit.alias2 <alias name>
