To prevent corrosion, oxidation, and seizing, use a non‑conductive, non‑water‑soluble, non‑silicone‑based grease, such as ceramic or Teflon paste, between different kinds of metal.
  1. Strip 40 mm (1.57 in) of the cable jacket from the end of the down conductor.
  2. Place the groove connector around the lower end of the air terminal. Tighten by hand.
    The following figure shows the parallel groove connector installation to a 60‑mm mast (2.36‑in). The orientation of the bracket is different on a 50‑mm (1.97‑in) mast.

  3. Place the down conductor in the groove connector. Tighten the 2 bolts.
  4. Insert the split pin.
