  1. Lead the Type V cable to the RWS200 enclosure through a cable gland.
  2. Prepare the cable for connection to the road sensor interface card DRI701 in RWS200.
  3. Connect the wires to a 16‑pin connector.
  4. Ground the cable to the grounding rail for sensor cables.

To make a solid ground connection of the Type V cable shield to the grounding rail for sensor cables, use the shield bond connector provided in the splice kit.

    1. Slide the threaded piece between the blue net and the transparent plastic liner.
    2. For additional grounding, connect an extra shield wire to the DRI701 connector pin 6. Twist the other end around the stud of the shield bond connector.
You can cut a piece from the Type V cable, peel it, and use it as a grounding wire.
    3. Make sure that the barbed part of the shield bond connector is slid completely inside the cable. Install the top clamp and tighten with the nut.
Make sure that the barbs touch the blue shield and pierce it once clamped.
    4. Position the cable on the grounding rail for sensor cables so that the stud points to the front of the enclosure.
    5. Using a large grounding clamp, secure the cable to the grounding rail for sensor cables. Make sure that the grounding clamp contacts the shield bond connector firmly.
  5. Use a multimeter to test the connection.

Use the sensor validation sheet in the splice kit instructions or in DRS511 and DTS12G Installation and Maintenance Manual (M010032EN).

  6. Insert the connector into DRI701.
After installation, configure the sensor settings in RWS200 Web UI. For instructions, see RWS200 Installation Manual (M211608EN).
