When installing DRS511 on a bridge, the dimensions shown in DRS511 slot dimensions do not apply. The surfacing on bridges is not normally thick enough to install a sensor of standard height.
Find out the asphalt thickness specifications and depths at which waterproof layers are installed. For bridge installations, Vaisala offers a DRS511BB model, which is 50 mm (1.96 in) high.
The depth of the slot depends on the surfacing thickness. To reduce the risk of damage on the cable, cut as narrow a cable slot as possible and place the sensor and cable low in the slot.
DTS12G is never installed on a bridge.
