| WARNING Make sure that you prepare or connect only de-energized wires. |
-
Strip the wires that are going to be connected.
Strip a piece that is 1 mm (0.04 in) longer than the ferrule.
For details on the wiring, see:
- Wiring instructions for the sensor
- Quick reference card for the sensor
- Wiring diagrams
Check that the number and color of unused wires match the number and color listed in the quick reference cards. If not, the cable is not correct. -
Crimp the ferrules to the wires.
Use a professional crimping tool and press hard enough to make sure that the ferrule holds fast. To make sure that the contact is good, use 10‑mm (0.39‑in) ferrules. - 1

Cut the wires to approximately 15 cm (6 in) in length (cables to PMU701), 20 cm (8 in) (cables to DRI701), 40 cm (16 in) (WMT700 with transducer and arms heating)

Cut unused wires to different lengths and tie them together with electrical tape.
CAUTION If exposed wires come in contact with the shield, ground, or each other, they can interfere with signals from other sensors on the same line. Cut unused wires to different lengths and insulate them with electrical tape. Avoid cutting the wires too short.
