An ozone sounding with RS41 consists of an ozone sensor unit, RSA411 Ozone Interface Kit, and RS41 radiosonde. These are described in the sections below. Other equipment needed is also explained. For detailed information on the radiosonde, see RS41-SG and RS41-SGP User Guide (M211667EN).
In an ozone sounding, the radiosonde is attached to a styrofoam flight box which contains the ozone sensor unit and the interface card. The battery for powering the ozone pump is placed in a compartment on the side of the box.
