To set up the HMT140 for the first time:

  1. Make sure the HMT140 Configuration Cable is disconnected from your PC.
  2. Open the HMT140 cover (see Opening Data Logger Cover).
  3. Make sure the power switch on the device is in the OFF position.
  4. Install 3 × 3.6 V lithium batteries as indicated in Figure 1.
    Use only batteries recommended by Vaisala (see HMT140 User Guide, M211488EN).
  5. Turn the power switch on the device to the ON position, and wait for the setup process to complete (5 seconds).
