You can configure the settings for the message or the default sensor and other data sources.
  1. Enter Maintenance mode.
  2. On the Advanced settings page, press Messages.
  3. On the Select messages in use page, press Configure.
  4. On the Message settings page, select the message from the list on the left. The current settings are displayed on the right.
  5. To edit the settings for the selected message, press Change.
  6. On the message settings, depending on the data type:
    • Press the arrow to open the list and select from the list of options.
    • Press the data field to open the typing pad. When finished, press OK.
    Interface
Select the communication interface used for receiving data from the sensor, for example, COM2 if serial connection is used.
    Location
Type the (ICAO) location indicator for the sensor, for example, 22R.
    Interval (seconds)

    Select the data sending interval.

In the autosend mode, the interval must match the interval defined in the sensor.
    Communication mode

Autosend: Select this if the sensor sends the data according to its pre-configured schedule.

Poll: Select this if the display polls the sensor to receive the data.

    Message format
Select the message format that the sensor sends.
    Runway magnetic direction
(Wind sensor only) Type the runway magnetic direction in degrees.
    Sensor alignment
(Wind sensor only) Select True north or Magnetic north depending on the actual alignment of the wind sensor. See also Configuring station settings.
    Sensor ID

Type the ID of the sensor, when applicable.

In the poll mode, the ID must be defined and must match the ID in the sensor. Otherwise the poll command that is sent from the display is not correct.

The display uses asterisk (*) as wildcard character. It means that any character is accepted when receiving sensor ID in the message.

If several sensors are using one communication channel in the autosend mode, you have to create message IDs for each of them.

If several sensors are using different communication interfaces in the autosend mode, it is a good idea to create the IDs to check the functioning of the interfaces.

Sensor diff to ref. alt. (m)
(Pressure sensor only) The difference between sensor altitude and reference altitude. When the sensor is installed below reference altitude, the value is negative.
  7. To save the changes, press Apply.
The changes are valid only after pressing Apply.
