To configure the weather station, open a service connection to the QML data logger. You can connect to the QML data logger using the following communication interfaces:
- RS-232 serial port
- TCP/IP socket through a wired Ethernet connection (if Ethernet communication module DSE101 is used)
- TCP/IP socket through the cellular modem
The serial line connection is open by default. AWS Client supports any number of serial ports available on the computer. The software reads the installed serial ports from the Windows registry.
Connect a serial cable to the service port of the weather station and to an available COM port on your computer. Use a USB‑to‑RS‑232 converter if needed.
To enable TCP/IP socket connections over the cellular network, you must open the sockets separately in the QML data logger configuration. TCP/IP sockets can be running in client or server mode.
