WARNING Only licensed
experts may install electrical components. They must adhere to local and state
legislation and regulations.
WARNING Make sure that you
prepare or connect only de-energized wires.
WARNING Keep away from live
circuits. Operating personnel must observe safety regulations at all times.
WARNING Do not operate in an
explosive atmosphere, for example, when flammable gases or fumes are present.
Operation of electrical equipment in such an environment constitutes a safety
hazard.
CAUTION Do not damage or change the wiring. Incorrect wiring can cause damage and prevent or limit operation.
Signal names are for RM60. In other
products, signal names and wire colors can vary.
To create jumpers for RS-232 and SDI-12
connections, use the pieces of wire provided with WSP150.
If you have common wires for heating and
operating voltages on the system side, connect the following terminals in parallel:
1 and 3
2 and 4
Vaisala recommends using a device cable with
a maximum length of 3 m (10 ft).

Wiring with SDI-12, RS-232, RS-422
(2-wire and 4-wire), and RS-485Wiring WSP150 with WXT532 with 2 x
4-20mA outputs
Open the 4 plastic screws and remove the enclosure cover.
Enter the line cable through the left side cable gland and make the wiring to the line
terminals.
For best shielding from RF
interference, bend the output cable shield over the plastic sleeve and O-ring and
tighten the line cable gland carefully.
Enter the device cable through the right side cable gland and make the wiring to the
device terminals. Carefully tighten the device cable gland.
Reattach the enclosure cover with the 4 plastic screws.
If the mast (or its surface or base) is poorly conductive, use a grounding wire.
Connect the grounding wire end to the crimp connector provided in the plastic bag. Fix the
crimp connector with the M5 nut and washer to the grounding screw at the rear upper left
corner of the enclosure.
CAUTION To minimize surge
induction to the cable, make sure the device cable is short. Ground the enclosure
through the mast or with a 16 mm2 (5 AWG) copper wire from the grounding
screw to true earth (lightning ground).
