| CAUTION Vaisala recommends an air terminal for all mast structures that reach 10 meters (33 feet). For mast structures that reach 6 meters (20 feet) or lower, an air terminal is recommended in regions with high lightning density. Especially in tropical or sub-tropical regions, a lightning protection system is a necessity. |
| With short pole masts, an air terminal is only necessary when the mast is installed high (for example, on a roof of a high building). |
Lightning Protection Kit DKL201 includes an air terminal, brackets, a groove connector, and a down conductor. The air terminal and the down conductor are made of aluminum.
The air terminal helps to protect the equipment installed on the mast from overvoltage when lightning occurs.
