Table 1. GM70 error messages
Error message Interpretation and action
Difference too big

The adjustment cannot be made if the difference between the measured concentration and the given value is more than 20 % of the maximum value of the probe's measuring range. This message can be caused by a considerable high drifting error of the probe.

Contact Vaisala (see Technical support).

Value too high

The reference concentration can be at the highest 110 % of the maximum value of the probe's measuring range.

Make the adjustment using a lower reference gas concentration.

Lower value too high

The lower reference gas concentration must be less than 20 % of the maximum value of the probe's measuring range.

Make the adjustment using a lower reference gas concentration.

Higher value too high

The higher reference gas concentration can be at the highest 110 % of the maximum value of the probe's measuring range.

Make the adjustment using a lower reference gas concentration.

Values too close

The difference between the reference concentrations must be at minimum 20 % of the maximum value of the probe's measuring range.

Make the adjustment using correct reference gas concentrations (see above).

CO2 value too high

The measured CO2 concentration is too high for the measurement range of the probe, or the calibration is not properly done. The screen goes blank.

Move the probe to a location with less CO2 or recalibrate.

Probe error: Reboot

This error can occur when changing the probe while power is on.

Switch off power and connect the probe properly, then switch on power.

Probe error

This error can occur when changing the probe while power is on.

Switch off power and check that the probe is connected properly: unscrew the probe fastener. Insert the probe to the handle as deep as possible. Turn the probe inside the handle until you feel that a step in the probe connector snaps into the groove of the handle connector and locks the probe. Tighten the probe fastener. Switch on power.

Adapter error Switch off power and check that the probe is connected properly (see the instructions for handling a Probe error message. In case of continuous error, contact Vaisala. See Technical support.
