New features and enhancements
As part of Vaisala's commitment to
delivering a continuously improving product, this service update includes the following:
- ANP115 Analog Input Probe support. Using the ANP115 in conjunction with the VDL200 data logger, you can expand the number of measurement types monitored by viewLinc Monitoring system. Available monitoring capabilities include door switches, differential pressure, flow, fluid level, electrical properties, and gas concentration.
- New REST API endpoints. This update adds two new endpoints to the viewLinc REST API. One endpoint allows the fetching of the current threshold alarm configurations for Locations; the other endpoint allows the enabling or disabling of threshold alarms. As part of the new API functionality, there are two types of licenses for using the REST API--one enables read-only API access; the other enables read-write access. Existing API licenses do not expose the enable/disable threshold alarms functionality to users.
- New device configuration alarm type. viewLinc now generates an alarm,
Channel units changed externally
, to provide a notification that viewLinc has unlinked a channel from a Location after the channel's unit type has been changed to an incompatible type. In previous versions, this unlinking would only be accompanied by an event being generated. - Various security improvements.
Fixes
This service update includes the following
fixes:
- Fixed JavaScript issues that were preventing Modbus devices that already existed in the viewLinc system from having their properties edited.
- Fixed an issue in which the \ (backslash) character in Ap10 and RFL logger descriptions was causing communication failures with viewLinc.
- Fixed an issue in which DL4000 loggers that had their channels swapped between mA and RH could cause a Location’s units to change.
- Fixed an issue that was causing newly calibrated RFL100s to not have the correct calibration date displayed in viewLinc.
- Fixed an issue that was causing some viewLinc 5.2.x systems to see spurious Event Log Validation alarms after January 1 of each new year.
- Fixed an issue that was causing the alarm duration to be left out of alarm history reports using TSV format.
- Fixed an issue that was preventing device validation alarms from being disabled.
- Fixed issue that was preventing users who had upgraded to viewLinc 5.2.1 from disabling relative humidity threshold alarm templates.
- Fixed an issue that was causing viewLinc’s Active Directory synchronization to fail because users in the Organizational Unit (OU) didn’t have a User Principal Name.
- Fixed two issues with Active Directory, one of which caused a user deactivation to not show up in the Event log, and another which was preventing that deactivated user from being reactivated using Active Directory.
- Fixed an issue that was causing full system reports to omit leading zeroes from device serial numbers.
- Fixed an inconsistency in how timestamps were being displayed in event reports. All parts of the reports now use the 24-hour format, per ISO 8601 guidelines.
- Fixed an issue that was causing alarm reports to fail in specific circumstances if
they contain pre-4.3 Locations and an alarm.
This issue was addressed prior to release using a hotfix issued in June 2025 - Fixed an issue that was causing viewLinc UI and reports to sometimes display the incorrect calibration date.
- Multiple improvements related to MS 365 email service, including:
- Addressed issue that caused error dialog to be displayed even after test emails are successfully sent.
- Improved the quality of email logs and fixed problems with errors being logged incorrectly.
- Improved email processing performance by correctly identifying ACKs and NDRs (Non-Delivery Reports).

- Fixed an issue that was causing periodic gaps in data to occur.
- Fixed an issue that was causing system reports to use incorrect decimal places.
- Fixed an issue that was causing the event log to imply that deactivated users had successfully been able to log into the system.
- Fixed an issue that was preventing the next calibration date from being updated on certain probe types.
- Fixed an issue that was preventing device validation alarms from being disabled.
- Fixed an issue that was causing UI errors in the Edit Modbus Device panel.
- Fixed an issue that was causing extra empty columns to appear in system reports.
- Fixed an issue that was causing duration values to be left out of alarm history reports.
- Fixed an inconsistency in how statistics for how min_value_time and max_value_time are calculated.
- Fixed an issue that was affecting the Location summary part of voice notifications.
- Fixed an issue that was causing alarm email delays because of a Twilio handling problem.
