Release for VaiNet network segmentation feature, also known as "Large VaiNet".
Release date: October 2023
New features and improvements
-
Support for VaiNet network segmentation using 4 segments; A, B, C, and D. Each segment can accommodate up to 256 data loggers using up to 8 access points, for up to 1024 data loggers in total.
It is recommended to leave some unused connection capacity in each segment and not plan for a fully maxed out system. For guidance on planning and implementing systems using VaiNet segmentation, see Guidelines for Large VaiNet Systems (M212596EN). - Cloud service support for factory preconfigured devices.
Fixes
- Fixed behavior to properly re-attempt measurement in case of failure.
- Fixed rare conditions that could cause a duplicate sample ID or missing samples.
- Fixed an issue in backfill functionality that could case a wrong timestamp in the measurement data.
Compatibility and upgradeability
- Can be installed on any RFL100 that has an earlier firmware version. However, for use with CO2 the hardware compatibility notes for firmware version 1.4.0 still apply. See RFL100 firmware version 1.4.0.
- Available as a firmware update for any RFL100 device that has been factory configured for operation with cloud services.
- Coexists with RFL100 devices that have an older firmware version in the same network.
- Compatible with viewLinc Enterprise Server versions 5.2, 5.1, and 5.0.
- Compatible with viewLinc Cloud.
Compatibility with AP10 firmware versions:
- For use of all VaiNet segments (A to D), AP10 firmware version 5.0.0 or newer is required
- AP10 firmware versions older than 5.0.0 can be used for standard size installations (segment A only).
- RFL100 devices that are factory preconfigured for operation with cloud services require AP10 firmware version 5.1.0 or newer.
