PTB330 is a fully compensated digital barometer, designed to cover a wide range of environmental pressure and temperature. It uses the BAROCAP® silicon capacitive absolute pressure sensor developed by Vaisala for barometric pressure measurement applications.
The measurement principle in PTB330 is based on an RC oscillator and 3 reference capacitors, against which the capacitive pressure sensor and the capacitive temperature compensation sensor are continuously measured. PTB330 compensates the measurements for pressure linearity and temperature dependence.
From the barometric pressure, PTB330 also calculates aviation related compensated pressure variables QNH and QFE.
PTB330 features a multilingual, graphical display allowing users to monitor measurement trends. PTB330 updates the graph automatically during measurement and it provides a 1-year measurement history. In addition to instant pressure, PTB330 provides the WMO pressure trend and tendency codes.
PTB330 with 3 reference capacitors (pressure transducers) ensures redundancy and high data reliability for further QNH and QFE calculations, which are vital parameters in aviation.
